American Country-Folk-Rock Singer/Songwriter
Artists like Andres Segovia, Norman Blake, Lightnin' Hopkins, John Fahey, Michael Hedges,
Keith Richards, Jeff Beck, Wes Montgomery, Eric Clapton, J.J. Cale, Link Wray, George Harrison,
Pat Metheny, Joe Pass, and Lee Ritenour have paved the way for guitar. Many are still forging
the way with artists such as Pat Martino, John Scofield and Oz Noy pushing the envelope.
After studying these players and many others; I've found a style I can call my own. Venues along this
veritable freeway vary (almost) as widely, from amphitheaters and house concerts to coffee houses,
back porches and stairwells.
My roots are in rhythm and blues, and Americana styles. Through time, I've begun incorporating jazz feels,
ethnic rhythms and alternate tunings. My current solo work includes folk styles of Townes Van Zandt, Nick Drake, Greg Brown and Damien Rice. I also play in a variety of bands ranging from blues to funk and standard/fusion jazz. Bottom line, I enjoy it all. If what or how I play can be a point of inspiration to a listener (whether to relax or re-ignite), then my job is done.
